Since we have improved GeneNotes, some parts of the manual is out-of-date (indicated as below). We will update the manual as soon as possible. In fact, the new version is much easier to use, you probably don't even need a manual.

This manual provides guidelines for using GeneNotes.

We suggest you start with Introduction and New user guide. Please email us (pengyuhong@stanford.edu) you invaluable suggestions.

  4. Browse gene annotations (e.g., name/symbol/synonyms, Gene Ontology annotation, quick links to major databases, etc).

  5. Taking notes while surfing the Internet.

  6. Create a new note for a gene/EST.

  7. Create a note linked to a word file, a PDF file, an image, etc.

  8. Create notes that link genes/ESTs as pairs.

  9. Organize notes by directories.

  10. Edit gene lists.

  11. Customize the interface.
